Is there a better place to celebrate a first birthday than Disney?! We hit the trifecta on this trip. Being able to attend a wedding, spend a day at Seaworld, and a 1st birthday celebration at Disney for our daughter made this an unforgettable week!

Location: Chicago, IL to Orlando, FL
Travelers: 2 Adults and 1 lap-child
Length: 11 days, 10 nights
Flights: SW – 30,992‬ UR points
Lodging and transportation: Turo – $391.89

First, we didn’t have the SW companion pass yet. Instead, I transferred points from Chase to Southwest to book the flights and we rented a van using Turo.

Also, you’ll notice that there’s no mention of lodging on this trip and that’s because we were fortunate enough to stay with family. Anytime you can take a trip and stay with friends or family, I highly recommend it. It’s great to trade-off and allow them to stay with you next time, or make sure to leave a gift behind!

Next, did you know that Sea World can be booked through the Chase portal? Neither did I until I did a search inside “Things to do” for Orlando. The tickets can be booked for just under 6,000 UR points per adult inside the portal using a Sapphire Reserve.

Finally, we made it to Disney! As a family, we made the best out of the day there celebrating. Having our daughter’s 1st birthday celebration at Disney and being sure to view the fireworks at the Magic Kingdom in the evening made this a memorable trip.

As far as I know, there are no secrets on how to get discounts at Disney unless knowing someone who works there. In order to maximize your Disney trip, I recommend you take a look at our travel page! With the power of travel rewards, you could take your family for free too!

We also made an announcement!
