This is a quick and easy activity to set up that can keep your kids entertained for hours! With our daughter Delilah, who is almost 2 and a half, attention spans are very short-lived. With color ball toss, Delilah spends hours working on her colors and gross motor skills while having fun!
How to Setup
Now I’m sure all of you have that basket of miscellaneous balls laying around the house that came from other toys that ended up combined in one bin. Because come on, I know I am not going to sit there during clean-up to try and figure out what balls go with what toy. So, into the bin they go! Well, this is the game to put those balls to use! Should you not have any misc balls, be sure to check these out to get some quickly online!

First, you need to look in your ball basket and determine how many colors there are. This will determine how many bins you will need.
Then once you have the number, collect your laundry bins or baskets. You can definitely use any type of box or bucket as well, basically anything to throw balls into. For me, I have an obscene amount of laundry bins, so that’s what I use.

Next, you will need to tape one piece of colored paper to the inside of the bins. The colors you will use are determined by what color the balls are from the first step. If you have pink balls, then you will need a piece of pink paper. If you do not have colored paper, you can use white paper and color it with any coloring items you may have. Do this with all the colors you will need.
How to Play
Once that is set up, place your bins in a formation that will be challenging yet fun for your child to toss the balls into. The placement of the bins will vary based on age and coordination skills of your child. For right now, I place the bins all in a row next to each other.
Next, place tape or any indicator on the floor that your child will stand behind when they toss the ball.
Once this is done, you are ready to begin Color Ball Toss!
Have your child take a ball out of the basket and stand behind the line you created. Then, have them toss the ball into the appropriate bin based on the ball color. You can change up the basket formations as the game goes on to mix it up!

Happy tossing!!! 😊
